 <description>Canadian REIT or CREIT, as it is often referred, is the oldest REIT in the Canadian Marketplace, listed on the TSX (REF.UN) in 1993.
CREIT owns a diversified portfolio, they aim to hold 50% retail property, 25% industrial property, and 25% office property. The properties are geographically diversified with the majority of properties located in Ontario and Alberta.
  
The Government of Canada, Wal-Mart, Staples, and Indigo Books are some of CREIT&#039;s tenants. At the end of 2004 CREIT had averaged a 15.3% average compound return over the previous 11 years.
